For Adults and Children Over 40 kg (88 lbs):

  • Mild to Moderate Infections: 250–500 mg every 8 hours (three times a day) or 500–875 mg every 12 hours (twice a day).
  • Severe Infections: 500–875 mg every 8 hours (three times a day).

For Children Under 40 kg (88 lbs):

  • Mild to Moderate Infections: 20–40 mg/kg/day, divided into two or three doses per day.
  • Severe Infections: Up to 90 mg/kg/day, divided into two or three doses per day.

Common Uses of Amoxicillin 250mg:

  • Respiratory infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)
  • Ear infections (otitis media)
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Strep throat
  • Skin infections

Important Notes:

  • Always complete the full course of antibiotics, even if symptoms improve.
  • Take with or without food, but preferably after meals to reduce stomach upset.
  • Consult a doctor for proper dosage, especially for children or specific conditions.
